Assessment Information

At DCMS, we use a variety of assessments to gauge academic readiness of students. The list below explains our assessments and the purpose behind giving them.

Case

EasyCBM
EasyCBM is another type of online assessment. It measures reading fluency, reading comprehension, and math fluency. The results of this assessment can identify specific skills in which students need intervention. The purpose of this assessment is to further identify skill deficits.

 9 Week Test
Teachers will give a minimum of three (3) assessments each nine weeks.  A summative test is given each  9 weeks. The purpose of these assessments is to check student mastery of standards/objectives taught for that specific time period. Together, these tests count for 80% of the students' overall grade each quarter.

Weekly Grades
In classrooms, teachers give weekly grades, which may include quizzes, as they see fit. The purpose of these assessments is to gauge student knowledge and make decisions about curriculum pacing.
